SABYINYO
Mount Sabyinyo
Mount Sabyinyo is one of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountain chain, reaching an altitude of about 3,669 m (12,037 ft). It lies at the meeting point of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, making it the only mountain in the region where you can stand in three countries at once. Its rugged, jagged peaks gave it the name "Sabyinyo," meaning "Old Man's Teeth" in the local language.
The hike up Mount Sabyinyo is a challenging full-day trek that takes you through dense bamboo forests, montane woodland, and steep volcanic ridges. Climbers navigate a series of ladders and narrow trails while enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding Virunga Volcanoes and the rolling countryside below. Along the way, hikers may encounter unique mountain vegetation, colorful birdlife, and even signs of the endangered mountain gorillas that inhabit the nearby forests. It is an exciting adventure best suited for those seeking a physically demanding hike with breathtaking scenery and a truly unique summit experience.

Everyone is welcome! Mount Sabyinyo is a guided hike designed to be enjoyable for all participants. Our team moves at a comfortable pace, with plenty of breaks, making it a fun experience for beginners and experienced hikers alike.
How do I book a spot for the hike?
Participants can book online through our registration form or contact us directly. Once payment is confirmed, your spot is secured
Is transportation included?
Yes, group transportation to and from the hiking starting point is included for all participants.
What packages and prices are available for the hike?
We offer two packages to fit your preference:

Can I join the hike if I have my own transport & accommodation?
Yes, you can still join the hike even if you arrange your own transport and accommodation. In this case, we will only assist you by booking your hiking permit.
