KARISIMBI
Mount Karisimbi
Mount Karisimbi is the highest of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountain chain, rising to an altitude of about 4,507m (14,787 ft). It is located on the border between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo and is known for its impressive height and often cloud-covered summit, which makes it visible from many surrounding areas on clear days.
The hike up Mount Karisimbi is a challenging two-day trek that takes you through a variety of landscapes, including lush bamboo forests, volcanic terrain, and alpine vegetation. Along the way, hikers can experience cool mountain weather, diverse wildlife, and stunning views of nearby volcanoes in the Virunga range. It is a rewarding adventure best suited for those looking for a physically demanding but unforgettable mountain experience.

Everyone is welcome! Mount Karisimbi is a guided hike designed to be enjoyable for all participants. Our team moves at a comfortable pace, with plenty of breaks, making it a fun experience for beginners and experienced hikers alike.
How do I book a spot for the hike?
Participants can book online through our registration form or contact us directly. Once payment is confirmed, your spot is secured
Is transportation included?
Yes, group transportation to and from the hiking starting point is included for all participants.

Can I join the hike if I have my own transport & accommodation?
Yes, you can still join the hike even if you arrange your own transport and accommodation. In this case, we will only assist you by booking your hiking permit.
